In a test conducted and observed by cnn.com, a normal couch made of synthetic material is tested with fire. The sofa is lit with a match in one corner as camera crews watch. At 1 minute and 40 seconds (1:40) the smoke alarm in the room is activated…at the 2 minute mark the entire room is engulfed in flames…now thats hot! According to General Mills, PopSecret popcorn takes on average 1 minute and 50 seconds to make in a newer microwave.
My advice to you is..when you leave the tv to go make popcorn before a game..please do not leave your cigarette behind !
