Startlogic! Startlogic! Web hosting that is not so logic!

7:17 pm in Football News Extras by admin

In 2006, I was approached to begin building websites by friends and local businesses. Before I knew it I was working for an Internet Marketing Agency that came into the area. However, I was never aware of the headaches associated with hosting a website. It doesn’t seem like a hard concept. I chose a company called Startlogic Inc, whom I found through a friend. I visited their site to sign up for a hosting plan. I took notice to the following snippets of text on their homepage like: Award winning 24/7 support”, “Trusted by 100,000 customers”, and “Real People. Real Service. Real Savings.”

Let me tell you about “Real Service.” Startlogic has proven themselves to be the furthest thing from award winning support, and I would like to talk to just one of these 100,000 customers that trust them. After physically calling support because of problems with my sites over the last 2 years I have come to the conclusion that I would rather call Dell and talk to Apu Muhammad in India. He can not speak English but at least he answers the phone and gives it a shot.

After being on hold for 2 hours I finally reached Startlogic support to cancel all of my hosting subscriptions. So what did Startlogic do? They renewed them all for another year. So now I had to wait on the phone for another 4 hours trying to talk to a human being, and at the end I was asked to fill out a complaint ticket. Let me tell you about complaint tickets by Startlogic. You have a better chance contacting George W. Bush by telegraph to get results on lowering the country budget.  Seriously, if you can’t handle the amount of customers with the staff you have, you need to A. Fire the Staff, B. Hire more staff.

After Startlogic withdrew large, unauthorized amounts of money out of my bank account I was informed it would take more than 5 days for that money to return.  Talk about an inconvenience. So I am currently trying to figure out how much money I have saved with Startlogic. Maybe the saving will come from the 8 hours I’ve spent on hold in the last two days or the service charges I got nailed for, because my bank account was overdrawn.

Startlogic has no logic! I recommend GoDaddy.com or Bluefishhosting.com or anyone else on that matter.

20 Players from Ole Miss on Probation for Stealing Hotel Items

3:46 pm in College Football Recruiting by admin

Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron said that the players will be on probation indefinitely after players stole items, which included radios and pillows from hotels. Apparently this is at least the fourth disciplinary action Coach Orgeron has taken this season. Since the players paid for the stolen items, there is no violation of NCAA rules.

Alabama Coach “You Are Suspended Until We Start Losing”

2:30 pm in College Football News by admin

Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban suspended one of his players WR DJ Hall for violating team rules for last Saturday’s game. When Alabama looked like they were going to lose ”Coach” (and I use this term loosely) decided to insert DJ Hall into the game.  Alabama was tied with ULM in the second half and being dominated throughout the third quarter, Hall’s suspension was magically lifted and he returned to play. Good job Pops! Next time you can’t get a handle on things, hopefully Paterno won’t hear about it; he will make you clean up Beaver Stadium!

A Poll System Can’t Elect the Best President Let Alone A BCS Team

1:12 pm in College Football News by admin

It is the only poll structured system in sports that can award a National Championship to a team based only on “style” points. Not only that, too many assumptions are made. We all know the troubles assumptions can bring and the name it spells when the first three letters are acknowledged. Look what a poll system did to our country. Polls are not accurate enough to pick the best person for the job or the best team in the nation. Polls are simply a way to find out who has more money, fans, and who looks the “coolest.”  Two words! “Style points!”

It is amazing how both the BCS and United States of America are currently in shambles because of a flawed poll system. College football needs to get rid of the poll system and re-amp the possibly of playoffs. Playoffs? Playoffs? Yes, I am talking about playoffs! Yes Jim Mora, I am not kidding you! We are talking about playoffs here!

Anyway, for example; LSU is currently ranked number 1 and Oregon was ranked number 2 (before suffering their loss on Thursday). By assumption, Oregon should lose to LSU by a mere 10 points considering their ranking has been polled one spot behind LSU. However, all teams have flaws and when matched up against opponents that have different flaws; the outcome of a game can be significantly different than what “should have happened” (based on the BCS). Rankings do not show the flaws in teams that other teams can capitalize on and in the end win the football game.
Just like our beloved president who has stupidity flaws.
My prediction is; by the year 2010 the BCS will have a playoff system of 14 or more of the top ranked teams. Even though the poll will be used to grab those teams; at least we may have chance of watching the two best teams in the nation battling it out for a title. And who knows maybe Obama will pull an upset in the 2008 election.

Hawaii Trainers Know Nothing About Head Injuries

5:34 pm in Football News Extras by admin

HONOLULU — After sitting out two days of practice following a concussion, Colt Brennan returned to the field Wednesday to take a few snaps, with Hawaii coach June Jones saying the quarterback has been cleared to play Friday at Nevada.
Doctors and trainers have determined Brennan is fine following the injury Saturday in a 37-30 victory over Fresno State, Jones said.  “If the game was today, I would say he would play,” Jones said following practice.According to the Canadian Health Network..for concussions with loss of consciousness, the minimum time away from Read the rest of this entry →

No. 2 Ducks fall to unranked Wildcats

5:16 pm in College Football Recruiting by admin

Second-ranked Oregon lost Heisman Trophy candidate Dennis Dixon to a knee injury and never recovered in a 34-24 upset by Arizona on Thursday night. Oregon didn’t fall very easily. They just could not move the chains quick enough in the 4th quarter. Kansas is now in the driver’s seat with only LSU standing in their way. Another classic storybook ending to college football is in the making. Who, in your opinion has the best chance of winning the BCS? And Buckeye fans; please just do not speak.

Jim Tressel, the coach of the OSU Buckeyes has made history by making his own Firefox theme and extension. If you ask me Jim has a lot of time on his hands (while running a football team) to create a firefox theme? Okay enough said. This might be an issue if his team was 1 and 8 *cough Charlie*.  It is however very cool. Ohio State Fans have fun. It is a very creative way to incorporate your team into your internet surfing. A 12 Year Old Girl That Resembles Reggie Bush

3:22 pm in Football News Extras by admin

I stumbled upon a video today that I could not believe. This girl no older than 12 years old can shake and bake! And I don’t mean with her lightbulb oven. She tears it up during a flag football game. Check this video out. It is located on collegehumor.com. I so want to call this video fake, but I’m not sure that technology was available in 1991. I wonder where she is today!  Prepare to be amazed!
