The Only Way To Live Blog During The Big Game
January 8, 2008
During last night’s BCS Championship game, live blogging was definently happening all over the country. As Ohio State ripped off the first touchdown of the night early in the first quarter, the refresh button in many browsers were fired, with everyone waiting for everyone else’s reaction to the play. For most of the night the same routine followed. With LSU making a comeback bloggers were indulged in letting their analysis of each and every play be known.
Some sat with laptops in their lazy boys watching their big TV, shifting there eyes back and forth from computer to big screen, and hitting the refresh button in the process. Probably spilling chips, soda and all sorts of sauces all over the keyboard.  Others sat in the opposite corner of their rooms with their backs to the tv struggling to see the tv over their left shoulder. Sometimes spinning around in their swivel chairs trying not to feel queazey.
If you really would have been prepared for the game and used a little common sense at the same time, you would have bought a video input cable for your TV. With the ability of Picture-In-Picture you would easily be able to watch the game and refresh your blog page simultaneously, especially during commercials. To enhance your experience, use a laptop. Buy a wireless keyboard and mouse, and recline with your wings and beer. This way if you have a minor miscue you do not ruin your brand new Dell XPS system and spend the rest of your night with a hair dryer. If you are one of the lucky ones,  your surround sound system is over 1000 watts.
