Coors Brewing Company Announces “National Venting Day”

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

It is official. Every April 15th for the rest of man-kind will be known as “National Venting Day” also known as the day Coors Brewing Company added an important feature to their wide-mouth cans to increase pouring efficiency. The perfect way to reward all of us hard working men on tax day. The invention of the vent is an industry first and reinforces Coors Light’s continuing commitment to providing beer drinkers the best way to enjoy the “World’s Most Refreshing Beer.”

The reason for the small air vent is to create a more smooth pour decreasing the head of most regular cans of beer.
“The Vented Wide Mouth is the latest step in our attempt to create a can that drinks like a frosty glass. On Tax Day, we’re giving beer drinkers a better way to Vent”,  vice president Lee Dolan says.

If CEO Bill Coors had the innovative idea to actually invent the aluminum can, we should congradulate him on inventing the “vent”.  A wider- mouth, silver package, and less head; what more could us consumers ask for while enjoying an adult beverage. Cheers to Coors!

Charlie Brown Wears Steelers Colors At Christmas

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

In an article written this week by ESPN’s David Fleming, Author of the “Breaker Boys:The NFL’s Greatest Team and the Stolen 1925 Championship”, Fleming writes about how the Steelers could possibly beat the peanuts_charlie_brown_yellow_shirt-t.jpgPatriots this weekend, and the 33 reasons that back his hypothesis. We all have seen Charlie Brown at Christmas time, and we all know the black and yellow shirt he has worn for the last 75 years. Is Chuck really a Steelers fan? Possibly. Could this be a sign? I doubt it, but it is a good thought to keep in mind. So,  hopefully he will be cheering for the Steelers this weekend, rooting for the biggest upset in the NFL so far this season.

I will finish with a famous quote by Charlie: “It always looks darkest just before it gets totally black.” It can not look much darker for the Patriots, their last two opponents have made it the darkest time of their season, and the Steelers may make it totally BLACK!

University of Memphis football player killed on campus

Monday, October 1st, 2007

Police said defensive lineman Taylor Bradford, 21, apparently was shot around 9:45 p.m. (10:45 ET) Sunday and drove a short distance in his car before crashing. Bradford was taken to Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Campus police said the preliminary investigation indicated that Bradford was targeted and not the victim of a random act of violence. An incident from the night before may have caused this act.

The University of Memphis is closed today because of the act of violence.

Andy Reid Needs A Parenting Class

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Andy Reid’s sons are in alot of trouble once again. Britt Reid, son of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid, pleaded guilty to gun and drug related charges that could potentially put him in jail for over a year. The best case scenario for Reid would be for the judge to give him probation.
Besides the firearms charge, Reid also pleaded guilty to simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and drug possession. Misdemeanor charges of making terroristic threats, making a false statement to law enforcement and possessing drug paraphernalia were dropped..

Andy’s other son, Garrett, is facing jail time of his own.

A good parent wouldnt let this happen. Did his absence because of the NFL cause these problems?

This all happened in Coach Reid’s main house so he had to have some clue. Isn’t he responsible for what goes on in his house??? But I bet he won’t have to talk to Goodell.

What Really Happened To Stuart Scott’s Eye?

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Some say it is a bad case of lazy eye. “I don’t know the clinical term for it, but he’s got what is commonly referred to as a “lazy eye.” It’s not as uncommon as it seems. I’ve worked with a few people who have it both worse and not as bad as Stuart Scott. ”

Others say it was penalty flag through the face mask.

They are all wrong. Stuart Scott was asked what happened during an interview.

Q. Back in the spring, you sustained a severe eye injury while filming a story about football minicamps with the Jets. Tell us what happened.

I had gotten in shape and (Jets coach) Herman Edwards gave me permission to go to minicamp with them. I was doing a feature for ESPN on what it’s like to be in minicamp. But I was serious about it.

The day I was there, there were eight wideouts and the wide receiver coach said I was rated number six. I didn’t have any delusions of grandeur. I was hoping I’d be good enough to be a scrub wide receiver or a practice wide receiver in the NFL. I found that out that day. I didn’t disappoint myself and I didn’t embarrass myself.

At end of practice all the wideouts went to the Jugs Machine, it’s a machine that shoots balls out. I had never done that before. I had been catching everything that day in practice from the quarterbacks. I was probably a little close and the thing was fast and the thing was faster than I thought it was.

Q. The ball, coming out of the machine, hit you square in the left eye. How bad was it?

It was serious. I had emergency surgery that night and was out of work for a couple months. It was tough. I had some eye surgery before so I knew how severe it was. It was probably more scary that day, not knowing. The next day came and I knew it would be a long recovery back. I still need some more surgery. The eye is not great now. But I had some time off.

NFL Record: Who Ran The Fastest 40 Yard Dash?

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

You won’t believed it at 4.29 seconds however some have reported even faster speeds. One individual went on record as saying he witnessed 1 year pro Texan’s wide out Jerome Mathis run the 40 in 4.26 seconds, but it was not officially documented as it was hand timed. Anyone have anything that can beat that?

Worth noting, evidently this kid does it in a 4.44 … and he’s 13..

The Trojans Recruitment Staff Needs Competition

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

On Saturday the Trojans recieved verbal  commitment from No. 3-ranked WR Brice Butler (Norcross, Ga.). (WR | 6’2″ 178).

ESPN states that the Trojans are leading the college football recruiting for the most ESPN 150 commitments for the Class of 2008.  Someone needs to step up and knock them off their horse. Teams need to become more agressive when it comes to College football recruiting. Who has the talented staff that could compete? Is there any body??
