“In the last six years, I’ve read pundits, heard the pronouncements of broadcasters and collected several cubic feet of e-mail printouts from advocates of an NFL-style playoff system,” he said. “Even those that go beyond sound bite certitude share two intertwined and fatal deficiencies: they disrespect our academic calendars and they utterly lack a business plan.”

The state Senate rejected legislation Thursday that would require the state to sell the site of the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and adjoining Los Angeles Sports Arena. The bill’s author, Sen. Jeff Denham, R-Merced, said the stadium is “falling apart” and that selling the land would generate as much as $400 million to help ease the state’s budget crunch. California is facing a $15.2 billion deficit in the fiscal year that starts July 1. Details..компютри

Put the little man and his fiddle away. You saw this coming. Why pick on a University that stimulates your economy in revenue and education. REJECTED!

The future plans for the stadium include new seats, upgrade the video and scoreboard on the peristyle end and add a video-scoreboard on the other end of the stadium. To help pay for the improvements, the university will try to lure a “naming” sponsor for the facility and it has been specified that USC will pay rent which includes 8 percent of gross ticket sales for home games, half of game-day expenses, and 8 percent of revenue from live television broadcasts when the crowd is below 70,000.

Penn State coach Joe Paterno spent several hours at a hospital being treated for dehydration before returning home late Thursday.

The 81-year-old coach had been working at home late in the morning when he began feeling nauseated and was taken by ambulance to Mount Nittany Medical Center, team spokesman Guido D’Elia said. Paterno had tests at the hospital but was not admitted. Minneapolis Star Tribune, MN

Paterno was released and back home Thursday evening, and doctors determined he suffered from dehydration, team officials said.

Hey, it happens at age 81. All I can say is, atleast it wasn’t during a game (with a crowd of 100,000) or in front of his team AGAIN. No one is exactly sure what he was doing when he became severely dehydrated. We will keep you updated when the details surface!

“We’re a hot team right now,’” said recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner. “You have what we have been doing on the field [seven straight wins] and the black jerseys and the things around the program … we’ve been a hot team.”

Rodney Garner is not bluffing. Take a look at what they have lined up for 2008.

DT  DeAngelo Tyson | Statesboro, GA   6-2.5/275 Committed to Georgia ESPN #44

WR A.J. Green | Summerville, SC   6-4/190/4.60 Committed to Georgia  ESPN #6

RB Richard Samuel | Cartersville, GA   6-1/205/4.52  Committed to Georgia ESPN #34

DE Cornelius Washington | Waynesboro, GA   6-4/224/4.51   Committed Â
OT  A.J. Harmon | Louisville, GA   6-5.5/328/5.47   Committed Â
RB   Carlton Thomas | Frostproof, FL   5-7/175/4.50   Committed Â
CBÂ Â Brandon Boykin | Fayetteville, GAÂ Â Â 5-11/170/4.45Â Â Â CommittedÂ
OT  Cordy Glenn | Riverdale, GA   6-5/310  Committed Â
This is only to mention a few of what is thought to be a future National Championship team. They proved the strenth of the coaching staff and upcoming players this season. The president of the University is now demanding a playoff season trying to set up a few perfect championship seasons for his upcoming recruits.

Georgia still needs to take care of playing Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, and yes VANDY (who has played UGA tough every year) next year!

Boston College has not had the best luck when it comes to recruiting, but this could be the big break for the program to rebound and become a yearly national title contender. Mike Goodman from Christopher Columbus High School in Miami, Florida was the lucky 2008 signee. Good luck to Boston College for the rest of the year, and good luck to their new Top 150 Prospect!

It is something you never think about. You buy a large fry or some cracker jacks at a ball game; then you throw them away. Do you ever pay attention to what you are throwing your trash items into? Stadiums need thousands of garbage cans in many different varieties to suit the needs of large crowds. Bathroom receptacles, ash tray trash receptacles and other types of luxurious garbage cans may be use throughout a stadium. It is possible that an store like Garbage Can Depot could supply an entire stadium with all they need. Not only do stadiums need garbage receptacles, they also need recycling receptacles. Did you know for every $1,000 of fast food sales, 200 pounds of trash is created. Imagine how much a crowd of 100,000 would spend at a baseball game. And this is not including beer.
