Washington State University will lose eight football scholarships for failing to satisfy the latest NCAA academic progress standards, school officials said Tuesday.

Two scholarships apply to this academic year and the other six are factored into the 2008 recruiting class, athletic director Jim Sterk said.

“The NCAA has an appeals process, but at this point we felt it was best to accept our penalties and move the football program forward,” Sterk said.

The NCAA on Tuesday released a nationwide report that recommended possible scholarship losses at nearly 150 college teams in all sports. Washington State’s football program was the only sport among the four Division I programs in the state - including Washington, Eastern Washington and Gonzaga - to face potential scholarship losses. Read More

This is inexcusable! College football can do more than they know for their University and yet they are trying to find the cheap way out by hiring incapable staff? College choices are made based on the reputation of the university. Get with the program!!!

#3. First on the list, but the third overall is no other than Texas Tech’s WR Michael Crabtree. Ah yes, when you ask yourself about this stellar wide receiver and his previous accomplishments, all that comes to mind is the little fork that always is included at most restaurants with crab legs. Despite associating his name with food, his accomplishments in his debut season with Texas Tech were phenomenal just like gas prices. Crabtree had at least nine catches in 10 games in 2007, and scored at least one touchdown per game. According to Rivals.com, he set numerous national freshman records in posting 134 catches for 1,962 yards and 22 touchdowns. Not too shabby. One thing is for sure; the 3 Musketeer bar will not improve, but Crabtree’s coaches say he is on the verge of winning the 2008 Heisman!

#2. This guy has more than a candy bar on his mind. Todd Reesing, QB, for Kansas has proven himself as a gifted athlete. At the end of March he helped Kansas achieve the 2008 National Basketball Championship after winning a 2007 BCS Bowl Game (not the Musketeer Bowl, unfortunately). Reesing has his work cut out for himself and his team in hopes of returning to a national title game. And remember, Ohio State has Terrelle Pryor! You better win the Heisman before the trophy changes its name to the “Pryor Award”.

#1. If the shoe fits, wear it! No one fits the shoe better than Ohio State Running back Chris Wells. According to Rivals.com, in his final six games of last season, Wells rushed for 967 yards and three touchdowns on runs of at least 47 yards. All that was against defenses that ranked 58th or better in the nation, including two – Penn State and LSU – that ranked among the top 11. With an experienced quarterback sitting in the pocket Wells is extremely dangerous in the open field. Seeing Ohio State on your schedule is a recipe for a unavoidable diaster; kind of like how Mint Chocolate Cream Puffs are for your diet.

That’s right! The report from Gainsville is that the trophy was FUMBLED by Plant High tight end Orson Charles.

While competing in a Nike training camp, Orson told reporters that he and another were roaming around the football stadium. According to TBO.com, That’s where the BCS trophy, along with Gators quarterback Tim Tebow’s Heisman Trophy, were on display. While leaning over to take a photo of the Heisman, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Charles said he bumped into the BCS trophy - he thinks with his backside - and knocked it to the ground.

Wow. What embarrassment, he can’t even take a picture without wrecking the join! Sounds like a perfect script in the making for a Twix commercial! To bad he is already in Florida. The value of trophy was considered to be roughly 35,000 dollars. OPPS!

They say one bad apple destroys the bunch. Ryan Perrilloux’s situation is the classic example. A quarterback who is in charge of a great offense that fails to do his job on and off the field can demolish a team’s chance at a national title. As a response to the comment below: The only judging going on here is from a different kind of bench.

“It’s mighty funny how people are so quick to judge someone. To me it sounds like Les Miles got tired of “hearing” about Perrilloux. He should stop reading the papers. Let’s see. Nightclub incident - Cleared of wrongdoing. So there was no nightclub incident. He missed a team meeting to attend the funeral of his father. Nothing wrong there. And lastly he tried to get in a club with fake id. Wow. It’s not like that’s a felony or nothing. You’ll are funny. Enjoy the day… “ ESPN News Comment

BATON ROUGE, La. — Ryan Perrilloux seemed like a perfect fit for LSU.

The Louisiana native had the rocket arm, mobility and versatility to make him a constant big-play threat and one of the most sought-after quarterback prospects in the country coming out of high school. He even had the French last name.

His lack of discipline off the field, however, became an increasing distraction for head coach Les Miles, who finally decided Perrilloux’s presence on the roster was more trouble than it was worth. Perrilloux tested positive on a drug test, leading Miles to dismiss him on Friday morning, two sources close to the situation told ESPN’s Joe Schad. Read More From ESPN CF News

It is official. Every April 15th for the rest of man-kind will be known as “National Venting Day” also known as the day Coors Brewing Company added an important feature to their wide-mouth cans to increase pouring efficiency. The perfect way to reward all of us hard working men on tax day. The invention of the vent is an industry first and reinforces Coors Light’s continuing commitment to providing beer drinkers the best way to enjoy the “World’s Most Refreshing Beer.”

The reason for the small air vent is to create a more smooth pour decreasing the head of most regular cans of beer.
“The Vented Wide Mouth is the latest step in our attempt to create a can that drinks like a frosty glass. On Tax Day, we’re giving beer drinkers a better way to Vent”, vice president Lee Dolan says.

If CEO Bill Coors had the innovative idea to actually invent the aluminum can, we should congradulate him on inventing the “vent”. A wider- mouth, silver package, and less head; what more could us consumers ask for while enjoying an adult beverage. Cheers to Coors!

Today marks the one year anniversary of the tragic events that led up to the deadliest shooting spree in U.S. History. On April 16, 2007 the nation was brought to its knees by what we all now know to be as the Virginia Tech Massacre. 32 innocent people consisting of students and faculty tragically lost their lives as a gunman invaded the campus.

Fumbled.org asks you to remember those who lost their lives or had their lives changed forever. Numerous remembrance ceremonies will be conducted throughout the day to honor the fallen students and faculty that courageously took their last breath on that dark and dreary day.

Cnn.com has posted a tribute of victims which can be seen here. Cnn Tribute Take the time to click through an amazing salute and tribute.

I would like to extend my condolences to all of the friends and family members of the victims. As human beings we learn from and forgive the mistakes of others and move forward through the journey of life. Virginia Tech has chosen to move forward and most would say they have come along way within the last year. Many students had left the campus to continue their academic careers while other chose to stay. The Virginia Tech football team had a great season considering the recent situation. Golf team captain, and a junior at VT, Drew Weaver has made school history and will compete with Tiger Woods in this years “Masters”. Not a bad way to lift spirits.

The moral here is; no matter what there is hope, always live your life to the fullest day-by-day, appreciate your peers, friends, family and employees and most importantly let them all know you appreciate them.

I will end with a quote from “Alex Hitchens” (Hitch)…

Life is not the amount of breaths you take, it’s the moments that take your breath away….

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — With a daughter serving in the military, Randy Shannon particularly understands the importance of supporting American troops.

He’ll fly a long way this spring to make that point.

Shannon is among five college football coaches who’ll head to Kuwait and other military bases in the Middle East this May to meet with U.S. troops and participate in some clinics. He’ll be joined by Notre Dame’s Charlie Weis, Georgia’s Mark Richt, Auburn’s Tommy Tuberville and Yale’s Jack Siedlecki.

The trip is scheduled from May 20-26.

“I’m thrilled to do it,” Shannon told The Associated Press Wednesday. “I mean, you get to go over and support the people over there in the military. And most of the coaches kind of know each other: Mark Richt attended the University of Miami, Tommy Tuberville coached with me, Charlie Weis I know from the NFL. Everybody’s excited about it and we’re going over to support the people that support us.”

Read More From ESPN

Ok, so our troops need entertainment. Not a bad idea. Send them a few College football coaches and incorporate them in a few games of harmless football ran by the best. What I don’t understand is; why would you send Charlie Weis? With the way his 2007 season turned out he will most likely be picked last for teams. Demoralizing!

However, you can’t pick on him too much, he is doing a great thing by donating his time for a great cause. Stay safe coaches!

You could say that Terrelle has had an amazing last 6 months winning two Pennsylvania State PIAA titles, one for football and one for basketball. His coaches and teammates give him all of the credit in the world for focusing on the moment and not the future.

No doubt, Pryor is a team playerand leader. His talent and leadership abilities will do nothing but flourish the Ohio State team to possibly a few National Titles.

The source was a credible source and right on the money. Fumbled.org officially broke this story to the media before any other college football news site out there. This was all thanks to a phone call from a Jeannette Senior High School official!

BREAKING NEWS: STORY STILL DEVELOPING!

Sit back and get ready, because now its on…I mean really on! On April 18th, 2008, Joe Horrigan, Vice President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame will come to Pottsville, Pennsylvania (home of Yuengling) to debate the much anticipated return of “The Stolen NFL 1925 Championship” with ESPN senior writer and Maroons supporter David Fleming. The debate will be held at the newly reconstructed Sovereign Majestic Theater in downtown Pottsville.

According to the Pottsville Republican, Horrigan will take the viewpoint opposing Fleming, an opinion that by their own choice and despite repeated warnings, the Maroons disobeyed an NFL rule and therefore do not deserve the title. Jim Coles the main sports anchor for WNEP-Newswatch 16 (A Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania News Network) will moderate the debate between Horrigan and Fleming.

The debate will surley keep the Pottsville Maroons in the recently acquired national spotlight. Fleming has done an outstanding job of circulating his most recent book about the Maroons “Breaker Boys: The NFL’s Greatest Team and the Stolen 1925 Championship“. It has been said to be “selling faster than Harry Potter” in the community and surrounding areas. The February edition of ESPN The Magazine showcased an article about the Maroons and the curse that is said to be held over the cardinals franchise by Maroon fans for their unethical acceptance of the championship.

The Republican also stated that about 150 tickets — about two-thirds of the seats — will be raffled off March 30 at The REPUBLICAN & Herald, 111 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. Free tickets will be distributed in the random drawing, while the remaining seats will be reserved for invited guests.

The debate is the next important step in justifying the unreasonable events that took place in 1925. Fumbled.org supports the Maroons and hopes to see the title returned to its home, Pottsville Pennsylvania! GO DAVE!!!

According to the Associated press, a ”back-street” whimpy piano bar that admitted Heisman Trophy runner-up Darren McFadden (even though he was under age) will face a $500 fine.

Employees of Ernie Biggs (Official Website Seen Here) told investigators they let the 20-year-old running back inside Jan. 10 knowing he was a minor, said Michael Langley, director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control agency on Tuesday.

Can you blame them? They now can say this is the bar Darren McFadden was briefly arrested at. Sounds to me like they should have had the help of a professional advertising agency.

Anyways, McFadden and at least four others were at the bar when a fight broke out.

A video of the Ernie Biggs bar scene that McFadden attended can be seen below….You should try to find him. As for now, it looks like he will be in the clear and not be charged for under age drinking. After all, there is no law that states you can not be in a bar under age.

And come on man, if you are going to risk your NFL career, altleast pick a better bar!

Could this be bad news for Penn State? Top ranked QB Terrelle Pryor was spotted sitting in the crowd at an Ohio State basketball game on Saturday. He told reporters that a visit to State College would follow the immediate conclusion of his high-school basketball playoff run. As of now, according to the associated press, Pryor has not yet scheduled with the Nittany Lions. Is he ditching a meeting with PSU?

As Pryor got out of his seat at halftime, Ohio State’s student section chanted, “We want Pryor” and “Terr-elle Pry-or”. Sources say he was walking to a near-by room to meet with Buckeye football coach Jim Tressell.

Did the student section just provide a kick to Pryor’s decision? It is damn possible. Will a decision be announced in the next few days, maybe hours?

Horse-collar tackles may be no more in NCAA Football. The NCAA football committee plans on focusing their attention towards “heavy contact plays” and attempting to discourage such actions. If the passed, the proposed horse-collar tackle rule would be similar to the NFL’s, penalizing a tackle in which a ball carrier is pulled down from the inside collar of the shoulder pads or jersey around the neck area.

A flag thrown for the dangerous tackle could cost your team 15 yards and the NFL cashes in on a huge fine. Ask Roy Williams! Williams, of the Dallas Cowboys, was suspended for one game and fined 35,000 big ones for the horse collar tackle against Donovan McNabb this past season.

There is no time frame given on when the new rule will be approved or implemented. College football is also talking about setting a more strict policy in the future on face mask penalties and helmet to helmet contact. The recent events concerning Buffalo Bills player, Kevin Everett, may have opened a few eyes and concerns dealing with the saftey of our players, and especially, our student athletes.

Speculation to why this rule has not been even discussed has turned some heads. How did the NCAA let this one slip under the shoulder pads?

1. The Nittany Lions return 20 starters; 9 offense, 9 defense, and 2 special teams players. Pryor can learn from their experience on and off the field, from those who do not get suspended of course.

2.Jeannette high school is exactly 120 miles away from State College. Being that Terrelle was born in Pennsylvania he should look to continue his career in Pennsylvania. There is no finer institution of high learning like PSU.

3. Who will be the Lion’s quarterback if Pryor opts to attend school somewhere else? Daryll Clark. As the back up to Anthony Morelli Clark proved himself as having AJ Feeley like qualities. He came off the bench and gave PSU the spark they needed to be victorious in the Alamo Bowl just like AJ Feeley helped the Eagles almost beat the Patriots. The collapse is coming!

4. Pryor is on the road this week visiting Oregon State. This means if Pryor choses Oregon he becomes a Duck. Would you rather be part of a team that is called the Ducks, or the Nittany Lions?

5. With the depth PSU has already developed for the upcoming 3 seasons or so…adding Terrelle Pryor to the roster will make the Lions a contender in the BCS. PSU needs a spark desperatley and Terrelle is the answer without a doubt…

If we look down the road 10 years from now, will it be possible to have a team like Alabama or Georgia overcome Penn State for the all-time winning percentage honors? It is a only a matter of time (10 years of course).

According to ESPN, a week ago, Kevin Hart sat in front of television cameras and a packed high school auditorium of his alma mater, placing two baseball caps on a table — a Cal Bears cap on his right, an Oregon Ducks cap on his left — and then, after a dramatic pause, put the blue-and-gold Cal hat on his head. The perfect ceremony to acknowledge accomplishments of any signee into a Division I school. Kevin Hart could have not asked for more.

The gymnasium erupted with cheers and pride as Hart stood proud of his achievements. Support grew throughout the week. Complements of congradulatory means were issued to Kevin Hart, his family and coaches.

Unfortunately, Hart left one minor detail out of the mix. The Cal head coach never even heard of Kevin Hart. There was never a scholarship offer let alone an offer on the table at all. “We knew of the kid,” said a sympathetic Chris Ault, head coach at Nevada. “He was in our camp, but he’s not a scholarship athlete.”And yet, about 10 days ago, a Nevada assistant coach told Ault, “Coach, you won’t believe this, but the Hart kid is going to go to Oregon.”"What?” said Ault.”Oregon’s offering him a scholarship,” said the assistant.A few days later, after spending time with nine players making their official weekend recruiting visits to Nevada, Ault came home, ate dinner and then saw some jaw-dropping footage on the local news. There was the non-prospect Hart placing a Cal cap on his head.

Ault couldn’t believe it. He started calling his assistant coaches, all the time consumed by a single, paranoid thought: Holy god, the guy’s a half hour from our campus and we didn’t even recruit him! What’s this going to look like?”

That right folks! He made each and every detail up! The whole thing was a FAKE!!

What was he thinking? He had to realize at some point that someone would find out about this frantic lie. Is it possible that maybe he convinced himself to believe his own lie?He “snowballed” his parents, friends, and family. Infact, the parents claim an envelope from Cal or Oregon never even came to the house.

Let’s get serious here. This is an act that is supposed to be committed by a high school student lying about making the varsity team, not a “so called” Division I college athlete. For his valiant efforts in trying to become the first self proclaimed college football recruit, Fumbled.org is awarding Mr. Hart with the “Jackass” stamp of approval.Good luck to you, and we hope you find the perfect NFL team to fit your needs for the next time you cry wolf.

In an article written by the NFL Hall of Fame, the Cardinals football franchise is described as having minimal success in their league history. However, in the article the Hall of Fame implies that the Cardinals actually won the NFL title in 1925, stating that, “Except for 1925, when they edged out the Pottsville Maroons for their first NFL championship, the Cardinals experienced only minimal success on the playing field during their first 26 seasons in the league.”
Â
To me this implies that there was actually a game played! Using the words “when they edged out Pottsville for their first NFL Championship”, makes it seem as if the Maroons were actually beaten by the Cardinals in the 1925 season finale. It even implies that the game was a “pressure cooker”.

The fact is, the Cardinals did not edge out anyone!!!!! The 1925 championship ended up being handed to the “Song Birds” of Chicago because of the so called “disqualification controversy” against the Pottsville Maroons.Â

For those of you who do not know about the controversy; the Maroons and Cardinals were the top contenders for the 1925 NFL title, with Pottsville winning a late-season game between them, 21-7. That’s right the Maroons beat them! The “controversy” started when the Maroons scheduled a game against The University of Notre Dame, which included the infamous “Four Horseman”. They won the game 9-7 in the final seconds. On the same day, the Frankford Yellow Jackets were scheduled to play a game in the same city. Read More…

How can the NFL just hand away a championship? A similar situation that compares to todays sports world would be if the Patriots scrimmaged a high-school before the big game. Would the NFL just hand the Giants the Super bowl if the same situation took place today? Absolutely not! The impact of the media and fans on such a decision would sink the National Football League for such a stupid act.

Ever since the NFL awarded the Cardinals that final game, the franchise can not even peck its way into a successful season. According to ESPN Author David Fleming, a 92 year-old Maroons historian, Nick Barbetta, agrees that a curse is indeed in place.

“Â The Cardinals will be doomed by a curse folks in Pottsville hand down from generation to generation. “We cursed ‘em with the oldest, strongest curse in sports.”

New England’s star quarterback walked up the three short steps to the podium with ease Sunday night, (according to the associated press and ESPN) showing no signs of the right ankle injury that had become such a hot topic since he was spotted wearing a protective boot last Monday.

“It’s feeling good. I’ll be ready to go,” Brady said with a smile as the Pats’ met the media for the first time shortly after arriving in Phoenix.

Brady did admit that he was slightly injured.

“It was in the San Diego game, I think in the third quarter,” Brady said, referring the Patriots’ 21-12 victory last Sunday.

Since the injury Brady, probably gave some time to his girlfriend, I mean what else would there be to do?

“I’m not concerned about how it’s going to affect my play,” he said. “This won’t keep me out.”

The face of New England’s franchise reportedly has a minor high ankle sprain. He wore a protective boot on his right foot last Monday in New York while visiting supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen, causing a major stir and concern among Patriots fans.

“I was just trying to get into the house as fast as I could,” Brady said. “I was trying to hobble along. It kind of caught me off guard.”

After returning to Foxborough on Wednesday, Brady wasn’t spotted by the media the next two days while reporters were allowed into the locker room and at practice.

“I was glad to be back in New England and in the insulated atmosphere of our locker room,” he said.

It sure wasn’t safe on the streets of New York for Brady.

“Yeah, it’s been an interesting week,” he said. “I’m much lighter on my toes than I thought.”

Brady also issued a playful warning: “Don’t any of you chase me around. I won’t be nearly as nice as I was last week.”

I am going to break away from college football news and college football recruiting for a few minutes to discuss why the Giants will beat the Patriots in this year’s super bowl.

First off, let’s talk about Tom Brady. Tom Brady was seen wearing an air cast on his right ankle this week while trying to transfer a batch of carnations to his girl. Yes, I said carnations. Mr. 100 million dollars per year can only afford carnations. Shame on you and your mother!

Last night on the Philadelphia Comcast Channel CN8 , senior writer for ESPN Magazine, David Fleming, stated on the Super bowl edition of It’s Your call with Lynn Doyle , “If Tom Brady had a significant injury he would have never left New England. ” ‘Round the clock treatment for the next two weeks would have been administered immediately after an injury of any significance”. Makes total sense right? For all of you fans out there that panicked; Brady has a minor, high ankle sprain. Let me translate that for you. He probably will forget all about it before kickoff. Not a factor!

Now let’s talk Giants. The Giants are clearly the underdogs, and trust me they will play like dogs. They are going for the kill on every play. The last time they won a super bowl was in 1991, not much hype has surrounded the Giants since then. The challenge at hand is historic and they will do everything they can to destroy it. The Giants are clearly focused. Nothing to lose all to gain.

“The Patriots are bent on making history. But remember Dec. 29, the night the country took notice of the Giants, who chose to play real football when they had every right to play exhibition football.” –newsday.com

Seriously, what do the Giants have to lose? They already surprised us by advancing to the final round. What more could fans ask for after a couple hideous “Eli performances”. The Giants are going to rock out with their…uhhh….you know the rest.

The Patriots, who will play in their fourth Super Bowl in seven years, are no strangers to the distractions and annoyances that come with the game, but could they be too comfortable and under mind the Giants pass rush? Rushing the passer is going to be key in defeating the Pats. The less time Tom Brady has in the pocket the less damage he will do along with the stacked wide-receiving crew that the Pat’s poses.

Pressure-Pressure-Pressure. Tom Brady has the weight of a semi on his shoulders. Of course nothing compares to the amount of weight Jessica Simpson keeps on top of Tony Romo. The Pats have already proven they can make history, but can they go 19-0. Going undefeated through an entire season and throughout the playoffs could enter them deep into the NFL history books as possibly the best football team ever.

Sorry Tony, keep dreaming and ditch the girl already! If they drop the super bowl to the Giants all is forgotten.
We can not forget however, that there will be “Manning blood” on the field. This is Eli’s chance to redeem himself and prove he has what it takes to be a champion and not to just settle for a bigger shirt. It took Peyton a few years, now it is his brother’s turn to drive the minivan. And what, you don’t think they talk? I guarantee Peyton is doing anything he can to help his brother win this year’s super bowl.

Priceless advice from Peyton will give Eli insight on how to stop tough game situations from cracking his cup.
In an article written by newsday.com, Shaun Powell hit the green dot on the helmet when he said, “Therefore, the biggest “win” of the season for the Giants came in a loss”. –Dec. 29th, 2007.

The Patriots are in trouble.

A new study from the Economics department at the University of Colorado at Denver finds that college football is the cause of crime. You can read the paper written by a “professional” at the University of Colorado here. It seems as though these college professors have a lot of haterade saved up in the basement against college athletics and activities.

Stated below is the thesis thought up by these oblivious economic masterminds:

“…we find that college football games are associated with sharp increases in crime. For instance, assaults increase by about 9% when a community hosts a college football game, vandalism increases by about 18%, and DUIs increase by about 13%. We also find evidence that upsets result in larger increases in crime than games that do not produce an upset. For instance, an upset loss at home is associated with a 112% increase in assaults and a 61% increase in vandalism. We discuss these results in the context of psychological theories of fan aggression.”

They forgot one thing; Â to mention what college football does for the economy? Comment #3 on this fanblogs.com post clearly sums up the “well-known idea” . The money involved in college football is enormous, not to mention how much benefit is recieved from ticket sales and sponsorships over the course of a season. Sounds like these fellows need to go back to ECON 001 and start over with their lives.

It is mentioned on page 5 in the paper that violence is the result of other sporting events in general, stating that fans in general may act more agressively than usual while “taking in”  a game.

Well Duh! Any moran could have told me that. It has been that way with sports ever since cavemen through rocks at each other. So am I over reacting when I say “Why the hell would you title this article “College football games and Crime”, when you single-handedly admit that all other sports fans are the same way??!!!!!

Way to give a boost to your athletic department nimrods! You should be publically striped of your protractors and pocket protectors! And use spell-check for God sakes!

“Here! Here! I haven’t watched a bowl game in eight years. To the extent that is possible I don’t use products of companies that advertise for the BCS (cancelled my personal insurance this year). If you want to see College Football go the way of the Tour de France (can’t find a winner) and Major League Baseball (can’t find a clean needle or arm apparently) then keep allowing old white men (of which I am one) in the BCS to rule the appropriately designated “beauty contest”. The BCS names a real champion about as much as day-time soaps provide appropriate social commentary. I’m a Clemson fan but I’ve also become a Bulldogs fan today!”

According to ESPN, West Virginia University said Tuesday it will investigate the disappearance of player and football program files found to be missing from the former office of ex-Mountaineers coach Rich Rodriguez.

Paperwork detailing every player on West Virginia’s roster, as well as the program’s activities over the past seven years, went missing between Rodriguez’s resignation as coach to take over at Michigan and the team’s return from the Fiesta Bowl, the Charleston (W.Va.) Gazette reported.

A Michigan spokesman told ESPN’s Joe Schad that because of an ongoing lawsuit, neither Rodriguez nor the university would comment on the Gazette’s report. But Mike Brown, Rodriguez’s agent, said he would speak on Rodriguez’s behalf later Tuesday.

We are taking about player files and information here. Doesn’t WVU have computers? Why was none of this information redudant? When firing someone; isn’t your first concern to protect the school or company from malicious acts? Shady Business here fellow football fans.

Part of this information is from ESPN online

It is not too early to look into the 2008 season. My god we are almost into February. LSU beating Ohio State for the National Championship is now in the past. What can we expect for next year will fill sports magazines, blogs, and newspapers across the country until the opening kickoff. One thing is for sure, The Georgia Bulldogs are the biggest threat to win the National Title that NCAA history has ever seen. Here is why.

1. Georgia loses no significant talent. USC, LSU and Ohio State do. The Georgia Bulldogs return all but 5 starters from 2007. The Bulldogs only gap comes on defense where a pass-rusher must be found to replace Marcus Howard. Not too much of a worry if you ask me.

2. College Football Recruiting, Recruiting, Recruiting. Georgia has possibly the best recruiting class for 2008. More talent will be brought to the team by players such as WR A.J. Green | Summerville, SC| ,who have already committed to the Bulldogs.  Â

“We’re a hot team right now,’” said recruiting coordinator Rodney Garner. “You have what we have been doing on the field [seven straight wins] and the black jerseys and the things around the program … we’ve been a hot team.” He is not bluffing, the 2008 recruiting line-up they have going on is incredible.

3. With recruiting and returning, experienced players, comes great depth. Heisman candidate (Tail Back) Knowshon Moreno, Caleb King and “ice” Matt Stafford only to name a few will be able, without a doubt, resume the leadership roles like the 2007 season where they lead their team to just falling short by one game of playing Ohio State.

4. Georgia is hungry. Every single player believed (after going 10-2 this season)that they should have played Ohio State in the BCS game. It is in every Bulldogs dish; favoritism and Television networks looking for higher ratings may have played a role in USC being selected. The only way to fix this is to come out next season and rip the pants off of every team they play.

5. The difficult schedule is the only stumbling block left for Georgia. Arizona State posses the first great road threat of the season. Consecutive games against LSU and Florida will definitely not reduce stress. Execution will be key. If Georgia can execute the plays when they are needed, Georgia will be your 2008-2009 National Champions.

Concluding that any other team but the Bulldogs winning next year’s BCS game, would be like saying Larry Coker should be re-hired at Miami. Idiotic!

Rodney Garner is not bluffing. Take a look at what they have lined up for 2008.

DT  DeAngelo Tyson | Statesboro, GA   6-2.5/275 Committed to Georgia ESPN #44

WR A.J. Green | Summerville, SC   6-4/190/4.60 Committed to Georgia  ESPN #6

RB Richard Samuel | Cartersville, GA   6-1/205/4.52  Committed to Georgia ESPN #34

DE Cornelius Washington | Waynesboro, GA   6-4/224/4.51   Committed Â
OT  A.J. Harmon | Louisville, GA   6-5.5/328/5.47   Committed Â
RB   Carlton Thomas | Frostproof, FL   5-7/175/4.50   Committed Â
CBÂ Â Brandon Boykin | Fayetteville, GAÂ Â Â 5-11/170/4.45Â Â Â CommittedÂ
OT  Cordy Glenn | Riverdale, GA   6-5/310  Committed Â
This is only to mention a few of what is thought to be a future National Championship team. They proved the strenth of the coaching staff and upcoming players this season. The president of the University is now demanding a playoff season trying to set up a few perfect championship seasons for his upcoming recruits.

Georgia still needs to take care of playing Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Auburn, and yes VANDY (who has played UGA tough every year) next year!

According to ESPN.com The president of the University of Georgia is calling for an eight-team playoff system for college football’s top division, saying the Bowl Championship Series — which left Georgia out of its championship game — has become a “beauty contest largely stage-managed by the networks.”

In a public statement and a letter to NCAA president Myles Brand, Georgia president Michael F. Adams, who is also chairman of the NCAA executive committee, called for an eight-team playoff to decide the national championship, with the opening rounds to be played in the four major BCS bowl games. He proposed the change be made as soon as the contracts that govern the BCS expire.

Adams was scheduled to hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon to discuss the proposal. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported that Adams would support a playoff.”This year’s experience with the BCS forces me to the conclusion that the current system has lost public confidence and simply does not work,” Adams said in news release. “It is undercutting the sportsmanship and integrity of the game.”Â

Will the University of Georgia take the lead in campaigning for a new college playoff system? Only time will tell.Â

During last night’s BCS Championship game, live blogging was definently happening all over the country. As Ohio State ripped off the first touchdown of the night early in the first quarter, the refresh button in many browsers were fired, with everyone waiting for everyone else’s reaction to the play. For most of the night the same routine followed. With LSU making a comeback bloggers were indulged in letting their analysis of each and every play be known.

Some sat with laptops in their lazy boys watching their big TV, shifting there eyes back and forth from computer to big screen, and hitting the refresh button in the process. Probably spilling chips, soda and all sorts of sauces all over the keyboard.  Others sat in the opposite corner of their rooms with their backs to the tv struggling to see the tv over their left shoulder. Sometimes spinning around in their swivel chairs trying not to feel queazey.

If you really would have been prepared for the game and used a little common sense at the same time, you would have bought a video input cable for your TV. With the ability of Picture-In-Picture you would easily be able to watch the game and refresh your blog page simultaneously, especially during commercials. To enhance your experience, use a laptop. Buy a wireless keyboard and mouse, and recline with your wings and beer. This way if you have a minor miscue you do not ruin your brand new Dell XPS system and spend the rest of your night with a hair dryer. If you are one of the lucky ones,  your surround sound system is over 1000 watts.

Check out these live blogging sites that took advantage of the BCS game:
